Joining the congregation in the second rakah and saying salaam with the Imam

If a person joined the congregation after the completion of a rak’ah and mistakenly said salam after the imam, what should be done?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

الجواب حامدا ومصليا ومسلما

In the aforementioned scenario, as long as one did not speak or turn away from the qibla, they should stand up and finish the remainder of the salah and perform sajda sahw at the end.
