الجواب حامدا ومصليا ومسلما

In principle, a person only leaves the fold of Islam by rejecting any of the core beliefs of Islam; likewise, a person will also leave the fold of Islam if they reject anything in the Qur’an once they are aware of it being present in the Qur’an.

Regarding the inquiry, a person will not be considered to be denouncing Islam by holding the belief that working at a bank is halal. First and foremost, not all employment positions at a bank are deemed to be impermissible. Secondly, even a person directly dealing with interest, although sinful, will not be considered a disbeliever as long as this person maintains the belief of the impermissibility of interest.

It should also be noted that whenever a statement may be interpreted in multiple ways, it will always be interpreted in a manner that does not take the speaker out of the fold of Islam.
