The following du’a has been mentioned in a hadith (albeit weak) to be recited at the time of extreme cold:
“There is no god but Allah. What a cold day it is today! O Allah! Protect me from the place of “zamhareer” in Hellfire (a place in hell in which the inhabitants will freeze due to the extreme cold).
The aforementioned du’a has been mentioned by Ibn al-Sunni, in his book ‘Amal al-Yawmi wa al-Layla and other scholars of hadith. However, since the hadith is weak, it would be difficult to classify it as a sunnah. Nonetheless, one may recite the aforementioned du’a without considering it sunnah.
