Gold or platinum implant

There is a person undergoing medical treatment and requires a gold or platinum implant to divert blood from a certain valve; would this implant be allowed?

In reference to your question, either of the two implants may be used for treatment as this is a case of necessity. However, if they are both equally effective, then gold should be avoided and it would be better to get a platinum implant instead.
