Is there a greater virtue to wearing black hijab/niqaab?

As salaamu’alaykum

I heard of a hadith that the female companions used to look like crows after the command of hijab was revealed. Does this mean there is a greater virtue to wearing black (like the color of crows) for our niqab as opposed to other colors?

The hadith in reference has been narrated in the Sunan of Imam Abu Dawud. The full narration is as follows:

Um Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that when the verse was revealed that “they (the women) should cast their outer garments over themselves” {33:59}, the women of Ansar came out as if they had crows over their heads due to their outer garments.

In relation to wearing a black hijab, it may be deduced from the above mentioned hadith that simple colors, especially black are better to wear.
