Answer
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
الجواب حامدا ومصليا ومسلما
Homosexuality is more prevalent nowadays than ever before. We must realize that we are a creation of Allah سبحانه وتعالى and no one knows us better than our Creator. It is through following the ordinates set by Allah and His Messenger ﷺ that we will find success. So for example, if a person is inclined to commit zina (adultery), it would be incumbent on him/her to refrain from it and avoid anything that may lead him/her to such an act. The person will be rewarded for suppressing their desires in obedience to their Creator. Similarly, when Islam has prohibited homosexuality, the test and trial of a Muslim finding himself/herself engaged or even inclined towards homosexuality is to suppress these desires. This person will also be rewarded by Allah سبحانه وتعالى. Although, homosexuality is considered a major sin in Islam, it will not remove a person from Islam. However, it will be mandatory for the person to repent and refrain from such activity and anything that may lead to it. With Allah’s help and the person’s sincere efforts, Allah will surely help him/her through this affliction.
