Nasheeds with music and/or it’s substitute

Assalamualaikum

Is maher zain vocals only nasheeds halal?

 بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

الجواب حامدا ومصليا ومسلما

In principle, listening to a nasheed is permissible provided that the following conditions are met:

1) The content of the nasheed is appropriate according to shari’ah.

2) The nasheed is sung by a male. However, if it is sung by a female, it would be permissible for other females to listen to such nasheeds.

3) Music or its substitute is not played. This includes musical instruments, computerized music, beatboxing, etc. 

If any of the three aforementioned conditions are not fulfilled, it will not be permissible to listen to such a nasheed. The ruling for the specific nasheeds in question may be assessed in accordance to the principles stated above.
