One is unsure of how many sajda tilaawa he must perform

assalamu’alaikum

I just learned that you have to do sajda tilawat even if you read the ayah in English (nurul idaah). I dont remember how many times I read such ayahs in english in my life. What should I do?

In principle, for sajdah tilawah to become compulsory, the Arabic text of the sajdah verse or it’s translation must be read verbally. If a person is unsure of the exact amount of sajdahs they are required to perform due to not keeping track, they should estimate the number of such sajdahs remaining and perform them as soon as possible.
