Permissibility for the tailor to have someone else make the clothes
Question
If a person gives a tailor cloth to make a pair of clothes, is the tailor allowed to have the cloth given over to someone else to make the clothes without letting the customer know?

الجواب حامدا و مصليا و مسلما
Answer
It is permissible for the tailor to have someone else make the clothes without the customer’s consent with the following conditions:
- The quality of the clothes made by the second tailor matches or exceeds the quality of the clothes made by the first one.
- The customer did not put the condition that the tailor to whom he or she gave the cloth will himself make the clothes.
If these two conditions are met, it will be permissible for the tailor to have someone else make the clothes on his behalf. If either condition is neglected, it will not be permissible.
