Questions regarding fidya

Assalsmualaikum w.w.

questions regarding the fidya for those who cannot fast.  questions were: 1. Can you give it in cash all at once. And 2: can you give it in advance. And 3: are those people who are eligible for zakah eligible to receive it? Jazakallah khayran.

The answers to your queries may be found below:

1) The fidya for each day of fasting which is missed is 3.5 lbs (1.666 kg) of wheat or its cash value. The fidya for multiple days may be given at once to the same person. 

2) Only after the month of Ramadan has begun, the fidya for the upcoming days of that respective month may be given. Fidya may not be given for the upcoming days of a Ramadan which has not yet begun.

3) The fidya may be given to those who are eligible to receive zakah.
