Rule for specifying days when performing qadhaa fasts

assalamualaikum

due to a health condition i have to make up fasts from 4 years ago, I wrote down the dates on a paper, do I have to look at what date I’m making up at sehri time before starting the fast to make the intention count, or can I just have niyyah that today I’m going to make up the next fast that I need to makeup that I wrote on the paper?  If I don’t specify my intention of the exact date does that invalidate the qadha and turn it into a nafl fast?

It is not necessary to specify the exact date when intending a qadha fast. Rather, it would be sufficient that one merely intends to make up the last necessary qadha fast they are responsible for.
