Salah on a chair

If a person is able to pray sitting on the floor and perform sajdah, and is also able to pray standing but can’t perform sajdah, in which manner should he pray?

 بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

الجواب حامدا ومصليا ومسلما

In principle, one is only permitted to perform sajdah with gestures if he is unable to perform an actual sajdah. Thus, in the aforementioned scenario, one must pray while sitting on the floor and perform sajdah and they would not be permitted to pray standing and perform sajdah with gestures.
