When texting someone, many times responses aren’t given right away. Sometimes one even responds a couple of hours later. Is one supposed to say salaam before each message?

When texting someone, one would not need to write salam before every message sent even if the response is being given after some time. Rather, one may suffice on saying salam once at the beginning of the conversation even if the conversation goes on for multiple days.
