The clothing of paradise

Question

A man claimed that human nails which are naturally attached to fingertips (not the portion which is clipped) were the dress of Jannah. Does this mean nails were used to cover the satr? Is this true?

الجواب حامدا ومصليا ومسلما

The scholars of tafseer have differed in regards to the previous dress of Jannah. This difference stems from the explanation of the following ayah:

“O children of Adam! Do not let the devil put you in trouble the way he had your parents expelled from paradise. He had their dress removed from them so he can show them their shame…” (Al-A’araaf:27)

Some scholars of tafseer have mentioned that the clothing of Prophet Adam ‘alayhi salam and Hawwa ‘alayha salam was of nails. Others have written that their clothing was, in fact, noor (light). It is also possible to reconcile both narrations by saying that the clothing was made of noor, but from afar looked like nails.
