Using an inhaler while fasting

Is a person afflicted with asthma permitted to use an inhaler while he fasts?

الجواب حامدا ومصليا ومسلما

Using an inhaler will break the fast. If a person suffers from asthma and has a dire need to use the inhaler throughout the day in the month of Ramadan, he may currently not fast and do qadha of the fasts in the winter when the days are much shorter. If even that is not possible, he should pay fidya in lieu of fasting.
