Using lotion which has alcohol

My question is if alcohol is added in lotion cream does it becomes haram to use? Would alcohol derived from whale oil be okay?

Is there a certain kind of alcohol which is  not permissible ?

In reference to your question, alcohol derived from plants and whale oil is pure, therefore it would be permissible for external use (not consumption). Consequently, if either oil was an ingredient in a specific lotion, it would be permissible to apply such a lotion to one’s body. Furthermore, it would be permissible to use any lotion which has alcohol as an ingredient provided the alcohol is not derived from dates or grapes.
