Zakah on produce

Is there zakat on backyard produce? What are the rulings regarding mint growing freely in the backyard of a rental property? Who is responsible for paying zakat on backyard produce, the husband, the wife or both?

Zakah will not be given on any produce grown in a backyard as it does not fulfill the conditions of zakah.
